The Discovery Surfers Challenge 2026

5km(Open/Juniors)–Blue Lagoon

T-shirts to the first to cross the finish line:
First 300-5km Open
First 200-5km Junior
First 1100-10km Run
17.5km - All who finish the race within the cut off time

Nutting Hall – 20th, 21th, 8h00 to 17h00 each day. and late entries on the morning of Sat 22th Feb 2026 from 8h00 to 11h00

The Surfers 10km is a race for runners/walkers starting at The Gonubie Hotel. The start time is 13:45 and follows the route of the Surfers Challenge thereafter.

START TIME: 13:45 at the Gonubie Hotel
CUT-OFF TIME (halfway cut-off): 16:00
FINISH TIME: 17:30
The first 1200 participants to finish will receive a T-shirt.

10km - 12 years and over

NB**Buses are only available for the 17.5km runners (to take them out to Kwelera).

The race starts on a gravel road at the Kwelera River, but soon ventures onto the beach where runners will be welcomed by rocks and soft sand on the way past Rainbow Valley.

START TIME: 14:30 at Kwelera River Mouth
CUT-OFF TIME (halfway cut-off): 17:00 in Gonubie
FINISH TIME: 18:30

17.5km - 16 years and over

NB: T-SHIRTS WILL BE AWARDED TO ALL WHO FINISH THE 17.5KM RACE WITHIN THE CUT OFF TIME

NB**Buses are only available for the 17.5km runners (to take them out to Kwelera) and is based on a first come first served system.
