Om ’n kind te verwek is maklik; jy het nie ’n kwalifikasie daarvoor nodig nie. Maar die gevolge van gebrekkige ouerskap is ’n ramp op hande – vir beide die kind en die samelewing. Minou stel belangrike vrae oor ouers se verantwoordelikhede.
In die hof stel sy ’n Ouerskap-handves voor om die mensdom se “kollektiewe voorplanting-psigose” onder beheer te kry. Dié multi-dissiplinêre produksie open nuwe perspektiewe op die verwagtinge, meriete en leemtes van ouerskap in ’n moderne era.
In this courtroom docu-opera, Dutch theatremaker Minou Bosua takes her parents to task for failing their responsibilities in raising her. To sire a child is easy; you don’t need a diploma for that. But the consequence of negligent parenting is a recipe for disaster – for both children and society. Minou raises important questions about responsible parenthood. In court, she proposes a “Parental Charter” to curb society’s “collective reproduction psychosis”. This multi-disciplinary production invites us to engage with the expectations, strengths and shortcomings of parenthood in a modern era.
