The 5th Annual DETOURS Festival continues to promote alternative and experimental approaches to movement composition, choreography and physical theatre.

DETOURS 2016 reflects upon the last 4 years, the founding ethos of the festival and our growth as an experimental fringe platform. DETOURS responds directly to the academic climate both of Wits and other campuses across South Africa by encouraging our student performers to engage with themes of creative resistance and insurrection.

Guest choreographers are Kwanele Finch Thusi, Nomcebisi Moyikwa and Mersiha Mesihovic.
