A concert by a newly formed trio created to celebrate the enduring legacy of one of the principal architects of South African jazz. Led by Kyle Shepherd—one of South Africa's leading jazz pianists and composers, whose artistic journey has been profoundly shaped by more than two decades of studying Abdullah Ibrahim's music—the ensemble brings together Benjamin Jephta (bass) and Marlon Witbooi (drums) to explore Ibrahim's remarkable body of work through the jazz tradition of lineage, improvisation and contemporary interpretation.
