Kelvin Grove Club Guest Speaker Luncheon

Join us for our monthly Club Luncheon at Kelvin Grove and listen to Christo Brand talk about his book ‘Doing Life with Mandela – My Prisoner, My Friend’ Christo joined the prison service and, after a year at Kroonstad, he was sent to work on Robben Island at the age of 19.

He was responsible for guarding Mandela for 6 years. Upon his release from prison, Mandela organised a job for Christo as an administrative and logistics manager in the Constitutional Assembly. Once the Constitution was adopted, Ahmed Kathrada arranged for Christo to start work again on Robben Island.

A Two Course Set menu will be served promptly at 12:30 pm.
