About

Blare is a one handed dancing poem to Mother God. A story of a being who carries energies, voices, and songs of woman farm workers who died trying to find a prayer to Mother God, as they were fed up of praying to a male God who doesn't understand their struggles and pains the same way as their master Mshengu does. These women now speak through Blares' body as they are still trying to find the prayer.

The play uses the mediums of spoken word, monologues, music and physical movement, to carry the narrative. Written by Isa Ngalo, Mapule Mohapatsi, Sanelisiwe Yekani, Mpolokeng Chabane, Lebo Shikwambane and Mpapa Simo Majola.
