GOMORA

Youth Development at Joburg theatre presents Gomora, written and performed by Mlindeli Zondi, Directed by Tsholofelo Pauline Mmbi and Shadow design by Chris Van Ransburg.

The play seeks for solutions about retrieving colonial impact that affects the current generation. Set in an ancient cave now turned into a historical museum for tourist attraction, the tour guide of the museum is a descendant of the rightful owners of the land. If history could be written from the eyes of nature, could it be written in the same human perspective?

This production interrogates the question of genuine reality observed or truth perceived. The performance is carried out through heightened physicality.
